Many thanks to the folks at the National Brain Tumor Foundation (NBTS) for honoring me with a "Community Impact Award" at their annual meeting in D.C. last week.

Needless to say, I am extremely grateful and deeply humbled. To be recognized by the largest and most well-respected organization serving the brain tumor community is, well, extraordinary, to say the least. I never dreamed that something like this could happen when I started KHG a few short years ago.

The annual meeting and the awards event were both really great. I had the chance to meet a lot of really awesome people. Not only members of NBTS' staff and Board of Directors, including one of the founders, Bonnie Feldman, but also many of NBTS' supporters. What a wonderful, truly caring and extremely dedicated group of people. I enjoyed every minute of every conversation.

On that note, I have to add that I was completely blown away and filled with hope by having the chance to hear from and talk to the amazing researchers, whose work NBTS is funding. I am not a betting man, but I have to believe that these men and women are very close to making some significant break-throughs in the treatment of both adult and pediatric brain tumors.

In closing, I just want to say that NBTS is doing some really great work in the area of research and support and you should check it out if you have a chance (website below). What's more, based on our latest conversations, I am looking forward to hopefully partnering with them on some 'GET YOUR HEAD IN THE GAME' awareness campaign projects in the future.

PS: "Brain Tumor Awareness Night with the Philadelphia Phillies" - our joint event with UPENN - is tonight. It is really exciting as we have over 600 people attending the game and, with a win, the Phillies will actually clinch the Divison!

Chris,
First, congrats on your award. It is certainly well deserved! Also, that is wonderful to hear that the NBTS might be a partner, how fantastic! I had an amazing opportunity to sit at the NBTS table last year at a fundraiser. They have some amazing people who are doing some amazing work.
I can't wait to hear how the Phillies game went. I know we won, but how was the turnout, publicity, etc?
