09/18/09 - "Get Your Head In The Game" Blog Entry

Let me be the first to say Happy Anniversary KHG! Four years ago this week, KHG officially launched to the public at an amazing dinner event at the Delaware Center for Horticulture.

As proud as I am of the celebratory event we held on that momentous occassion - and it was quite an event as those who were there can attest - I am even more excited and grateful for all that has happened over the past four years. Most importantly, all of the incredible people that I've met and the fact that our programs, which are designed to address specific gaps in brain tumor awareness/education and patient/family support, have clearly made a difference in the fight against this terrible disease.

With that said, I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who helped to make this dream a reality. First and foremost, God, through whom all blessings flow. Second, our Board of Directors, staff and volunteers, whose time and talent (and sweat equity) are invaluable and immeasurable. Finally, our supporters whose generosity continues to make my head spin --- I still can't believe that we've raised over $1M to date!

I would also like to take a moment to encourage everyone to keep up their individual efforts. I know we have a long way to go, but I am confident that if we remain steadfast and dedicated, WE CAN and WE WILL change the course of this disease!
