1/27/10 - "GET YOUR HEAD IN THE GAME" Blog Entry

How cool would it be if we could leverage the popularity of auto racing to help promote the "GET YOUR HEAD IN THE GAME" Brain Tumor Awareness Movement? If you are an auto racing fan, I know you can envision the potential with me.

While I have to be honest and say that I am not personally big into auto racing, I can't help but get excited about the potential program that we have been working on for the past couple of months. Specifically we have been investigating partnering with up-and-coming race car driver Corey Lewis in his pursuit to become a professional open-wheel race car driver. While we have not yet finalized a program yet, Corey was able to include our campaign decals on his Team GDT formula Mazda car during the open test of the 2010 Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear in Sebring, FL this past weekend (see link below for photos).

A lot of things have to come together for this project to come to fruition, but I promise to keep you posted as things develop. In the meantime, I invite you to dream along with me of things working out and, someday, Corey making it to the 'big time' and the GET YOUR HEAD IN THE GAME Movement being featured at the Indianapolis 500!

About Corey:
Corey is an 18 year old, high school senior, from Nazareth, PA, who has won races in every racing class in which he has competed. His most recent victory was in Sonoma, CA, for the Formula Mazda Winter Series event in November of 2009. He has also won 26 regional and national events in the Skip Barber Racing Series’; he was the 2004 National Series Runner-Up in the World Karting National Association and the 2002 Stars of Karting Regional Series Champion.

About the Star Mazda Championship:
The Star Mazda Championship features open-wheel, Indy style, race cars that can reach speeds of 160 mph. There are 13 events contested over 11 weekends from March through September. The series competes with the Indy Racing League during two weekends and also races on the “Night Before the 500” in Indianapolis. In addition, the series races with the American Le Mans series during five weekends, including the world renowned 12 Hours of Sebring in Florida.

On June 25, 26, and 27, the series visits the New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, NJ, for two race events in which they headline the Formula X race weekend. Other major stops on the schedule include St. Petersburg, Atlanta, Chicago, Toronto, Iowa, Wisconsin, and California. Over 750,000 people are expected to be in attendance during the 2010 season and the Star Mazda Network & HDNet Broadcasts reached 86.2 million households in 2009.
